VNX Exchange CEO Alexander Tkachenko and our Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Zing Yang were in Singapore last week. They’ve spoken at the United Conference of Internet Money (UCIM), before joining panel discussions at Asia Blockshow Week.
UCIM covered a number of topics centered around empowering disruptive leadership including adoption, investment, and regulation. Speakers outlined the ongoing efforts to fuel borderless adoption and implementation of disruptive technologies, plus what the future holds in store for them, how current and potential regulation is affecting businesses striving to revolutionise the industry, and the art behind successful investing. Zing and Alexander were invited to have their say on the topic “Are there enough disruptions?” and spoke about the disruption beyond the likes of Bitcoin and Ethereum. They also outlkee wtasined VNX Exchange’s project to the conference and the feedback was incredibly positive – there’s so much buzz around our trading platform.
“The VC industry is quite young, only 40-years-old, but it hasn’t had a big shift yet. We are trying to institutionalise it and make it a more accessible asset class. It’s an evolutionary course for the industry,” Alexander said.
Alexander spoke at Asia Blockshow Week, an action-packed few days during which experts from all over the world were talking about how startups, investors, regulators, governments, and corporations are operating in today’s blockchain environment in Asia.
“The number of participants at Blocksow is significantly lower than it was last year but at the same time the quality of participants has dramatically increased, the people here are real investors doing serious stuff in the blockchain sphere. The overall obscurity of what blockchain is about is starting to dissolve, so professional people who have something to say and are actually doing something are starting to attend the show, so it’s becoming more like a tradeshow – which is only a good thing,” Alexander said. “It’s interesting to see the level of understanding of the technology in Asia, people here seem to be receptive to the technology and keen to employ it – this agility and receptiveness to the new is really great to see. It looks like Asia has already taken a head start in adopting this technology, but it’s clear Asia has really taken a position in using it.”
Alexander also outlined VNX Exchange’s priorities over the next three to six months: “Working on the regulation side and building the ecosystem around VNX are our main goals at the moment – the more long term goal is focusing on Asia.”
