Dominique Valschaerts, former member of Luxembourg Stock Exchange’s executive committee, joins VC trading platform.

Dominique Valschaerts, former chief executive of the Brussels Stock Exchange, has joined the board of directors at Luxembourg-based Venture Exchange (VNX).

Valschaerts is also a former member of the executive committee of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

He will join a four-strong team at VNX, which claims to be developing the world’s first secondary market for venture capital (VC) investments.

According the company’s website, VNX is creating a trading platform for tokenised VC assets – which it hopes will unlock VC as an asset class to a much broader global investment base.

At the firm, Valschaerts will join VNX founder and chief executive Alexander Tkachenko; the founder and managing director of VC fund 2be.lu; and COO Anton Abashkin, who co-founded PwC’s Centre for Technology and Innovation.

Vladimir Khanumyan, former COO of Russian media company CTC Media and co-owner of Sony Pictures Television Russia, is the company’s chairman.
