Goa hosted the Global Venture Capital Summit 2018 on December 7 – it’s an initiative of Goa’s government and the Departmental of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) in partnership with the International Finance Corporation and Indian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association. Government officials, fund managers, key stakeholder, and various startups were in attendance.
The event focused on the opportunities for investments in India’s startup ecosystem, and presented the diverse market opportunities and technology innovations available in the country, with discussions revolving around the current and future regulatory changes.
“This event will help us discuss the opportunities available and the challenges of the Indian ecosystem,” Ramesh Abhishek, DIPP Secretary, said.
Goa minister Rohan Khaunte also said that the state is set to become a desirable startup destination by welcoming more investments and creating more job opportunities.
